Recycling is an important part of encouraging a sustainable and cyclical ecosystem for the products we use everyday. But we understand that some recycling systems require extra effort or just aren’t available in our region. To help address this, Columbian Industries opened their own recycling depots in the community so that sustainable choices are more accessible for all of us.
Most of the items that are made for recycling can be washed and used again or can be broken down and turned into something completely new. Whenever you visit a bottle depot to drop off your empties for a refund, you’re starting a whole new lifecycle for your bottles and cans. Those donations are transformed into new products that will be enjoyed by someone else and recycled once again.
What we accept at our recycling depots.
At our depots, we accept beverage containers, household electronics, paint, batteries and household glass containers.
It’s important to note that the recycling picked up from your home does not include most of the items listed above. In fact, for some of the items like electronics and batters, you can get a fine for trying to put it out with the rest of your recycling. This is because most recycling depots do not have the sorting or disposal capabilities necessary to deal with them. Don’t worry, ours do!
